One of the challenges of making outbound calls with a predictive dialer is trying to determine the optimal time to make each attempt.

Most people will agree that each phone number should be attempted at different times of the day and perhaps different days of the week. But trying to determine how many attempts to make at each time of the day is problematic. Obviously, each failed attempt decreases the likelihood of getting a live pickup for that phone number especially if the next attempt is made at a similar time.

Predictive dialers need to group leads together into lists for efficient dialing. Ideally, there would be a way to identify the leads most likely to result in a live contact for a given calling period.

Any idea how to tackle this problem?
